Recording hand-held video with your cell phone while trying to maintain a smooth and steady shot can sometimes be challenging. And if you’ve ever tried doing GoPro videos using only your hands – you know how tough it can be to avoid jittery video.

A new video stabilizer called the StayblCam aims to solve those problems once and for all. It takes away the hassle and ‘clunkiness’ often associated with existing stabilizers and adds a new twist – a collapsible telescope design that the developer claims will produce very steady video for your iPhone or compact camera, even at ground level. This might be as close as you will get to having a steadicam for your GoPro (or iPhone for that matter), without worrying about counterbalancing weights or adjusting any screws or rails.

The StayblCam looks like it could become a hit among vloggers, amateur videographers, or even just the average guy or gal like you and me – looking for ways to improve their video quality on a budget. We’re told the StayblCam will be going into production in the not too distant future, for an undisclosed price.
