A week or so ago this Wallet MP3 Player from Walletex was announced and while it was destined to be released sometime in June of 2007 I didn’t want to post the story because there were no actual pictures of the device. It’s not that I thought it was vaporware or anything, I just felt that actually seeing the thing was important.

Well the good people at Krunker seem to have dug up a couple of photos of the player which I’ve included above. To recap, at just slightly thicker than a credit card the Wallet MP3 is basically the world’s slimmest MP3 player. It’s all solid state of course and includes a built-in double sided USB connector which is also used as the headphone jack with a small adapter. The player will be available in sizes ranging from 128Mb to 2Gb and can even be produced with custom graphics and used for promotional purposes. (ex. tradeshow giveaways)

Walletex says the Wallet MP3 will be available by June of 2007 but no pricing info has been released.

  1. hmm, that thing look mighty FAKE, mhm, notice there are no shots including the back? thats because the USB plug is GLUED ON! yeah… totally fake.

    this is news?

  2. Most likely an acutal USB memory device by Walletex with the buttons PRINTED on them. (So it’s just a fancy USB-stick with ‘MP3 player looks’)

  3. I am sorry i am a BIG simple IDIOT! I googled arround and it realy excist! it’s on gizmodo.nl, what a FOOL and STUPID MORRON i am!!!! 1000 times excuses to all the people here! I SUCK! SORRY SORRY SORRY!

  4. You people really are ignorant. Take a look at their product pages. It looks like the plug you use to attach to the device is a female USB port. There’s actually a part of the device that sticks out. Take a look.

  5. the USB isnt glued on, your thinking of a standard USB Plug in, like on your computer. Well have you ever looked at the one that goes in to a PSP? yea its not quite thin enough but i’ve seen thinner than that too.

  6. This news is realy!!! I saw the WALLET MP3 player, Wonder that very excist and the sound quality is very nice. And you can print you photo on the face.

  7. Well using headphones to sub jacks… thats new.. and probably proprietry… perhaps they can use even thinner usb slots then like the usb/charger slots on sansung d series mobile phones….

the other thing is the position of the slot… if they have it at the short edge side, how exactly is it gonna be pocket friendly given one usually slot the wallet vertically in? i think its better off having the port on the long edge side and provide L-shaped usb head phone connectors… if they do not take this into consideration then its one hell of a piece of crap…
