When most people hear of drones, thoughts of controversial unmanned aerial vehicles used by the military crop up in their minds. In recent times, several consumer versions of these “drones” have been available in the market serving non-lethal purposes. They are typically used by amateur hobbyists for aerial photography (and obviously for the thrill associated with maneuvering a drone). Faveable editors have compiled a list of best consumer drones variations available in the market today – with features like GPS, HD video recording, optional GoPro mounting ability, and more.

  1. Can I ask a question without being “that girl”? I honestly don’t get why this new(ish) Faveable list feature claims to be just for men. The lists are always gender neutral, but the writing is for men? I mean, regardless of the language if I want a GoPro drone, or a fancy keyboard, I’ll buy one. It’s just odd!

  2. I just wish people would stop calling anything that has multiple propellers, can be controlled by a phone or controller & a camera “a drone”. It brings the image of something flying overhead with a missile ready to blow you up. They should be called quads, or something else. With the military blowing stuff up constantly with these, it portrays a negative image of something that an RC hobbyist like myself does for enjoyment. It’s going to get to the point where they will go after anything that flies that is not police or military, cutting out a fun hobby.
