The TCC Kitchen Center, A Modular Cooking Apparatus

I’m a big fan of all things modular, and while this isn’t technically being sold as such, if you think about it… it’s precisely that. The TCC Kitchen Center‘s Power Base goes right on your kitchen counter. Within, you’ll find a robust 600W motor, with speeds going from 7,000 rpm to 18,000 rpm. Outside, you get a universal adaptor of sorts, on which you simply dock all sorts of kitchen appliances.

Want a smoothie? Take the blender “module” (minus the blender motor), place it on the Base, and blend away. Feel like mixing up a cake? Take the Stainless Mixer out (again, minus the mixer motor) and place it on the adaptor… Well, you get the idea.

The advantage is that you can do away with electric cords, and redundant motors. Saves you space, a bit of time and some hassle. And what’s even better with all this is that it’s not actually that expensive. The Power Base will set you back $300, while the accessories range between $35 and $110.

  1. That’s a nice piece of kit. I definitely need some space-saving gadgets… I have a blender and a juicer… and that just about uses all the space in my tiny kichen. I did have thoughts about buying a good coffee maker, but I’d have to keep it in the sink or something like that. This is one for my Christmas shopping list….

  2. I have the nutone Kitchen center from 1975 Everything still works perfect. But back then it operated 8 appliances. Fruit juicer, shredder-slicer, meat grinder, can opener, knife sharpener, ice crusher, blender and mixer. Having all these attachments make it worth having.

  3. Now that I know what it can do I am also interested if this little appliance is energy efficient. I like modular features myself and I am intrigued to learn that this product can reach 18,000 rpm. It sure has my full attention.

  5. Promising kitchen gadgets. But I'd rather not replace my trusty kitchen equipments yet with those because soon enough, those gadgets, no matter how beautiful they make look, will still be overwhelmed and replaced by newer and better gadgets.

By the way, have you heard about Lion's Deal, the online kitchen and restaurant equipment store? They've got lots of great discount in their web site! Just enter the coupon code on the checkout page to get the discount 'online 10' which will give 8-10% off everything on the entire website with a minimum $50 order.
