You know, I’m looking and looking, and maybe it’s because my last functional neuron threw in the towel two hours ago (I’m running on coffee distillates), but I can’t figure out just what this cute little robot does that’s so special. I mean, don’t get me wrong. The Sputnik Robot from Dr. Robot does a bunch of somewhat standard things, you know, things that many robots do. Like, you can control it via the internet, through wifi. You can look around the house and such. It rolls it’s bulbous eyes about and scurries along at a top speed of 1m a second.

I think, maybe, the selling point is that it comes with software development toolkits, so, I guess they’re leaving it up to you to figure out just what to do with it.

For almost $4100, you had better have some mad coding skills and somehow program it to make you waffles in the morning. More here. Story VIA Uncrate.

  1. $4100?!?! for that much i better be getting a gourmet breakfast. Filet Mignon Eggs Benedict will suffice. It also better make the hollandais sauce, the english muffin and kill the cow.
