I am fortunate enough to live my life without any major impairments, which means that I don’t always think about the kinds of things other people can’t do. Something I never really thought about was how a blind person tells time. Sure, there are talking watches out there, but as often as I check the time over the course of a day, I probably wouldn’t want to mess with one (though I can certainly understand someone who does). Well here is a sleek-looking watch that is able to be read by touch.
The face of the Braille Hi-Touch watch is covered by a protective glass lid that can be opened with the press of a button. This then allows the wearer to run their fingers over the numbers and hands of the watch. This is definitely one of those products that brings together style and functionality. No word yet on pricing or availability.

Why don't they just use braille? It wouldn't be hard to magnetically lift small ball barrings up and down to indicate the time. That would be much faster to read.
