carbon-fiber-bathtub-1

The sad thing about opulence is that once you’ve experienced it, it’s hard to go back. And while we haven’t had the pleasure to actually soak in the above bathtub, the Vessel, by British company Splinterworks, the expression “ignorance is bliss” sure seems to apply in this case; we were better off not even knowing such a beauty even existed. Made entirely out of carbon fiber with a foam core, the 2.7m (8.8ft.) tub looks like a hammock, hangs from the wall and drains into a specially made opening underneath it. “Pictured here in black, it also available in red, blue, yellow, pink, bronze and pure silver.” Price is mentioned nowhere on the website, but we suspect that sticker shock on this would be a couple orders of magnitude higher than your typical luxury bathroom furnishing.

  1. ok…..imagine the smell as your filthy bath water drains out onto the floor drain….assuming that no one has long hair to block the floor drain….and i aint cleaning your hair from the drain…plumb it in as it should be …looks just fine that way and provides better support than the wall….suggest a CF split drain cap shroud for final fit

  2. I’d rather have a standard tub where you can soak your whole body from your neck to your toes than this thing. Unless I’m looking at it wrong, it looks like it will get your middle wet, part of your legs and your stomach? Looks cool but I’m gonna pass, thanks. 😀
