You know how some couples decide to do theme weddings that are either so sweet or so spot-on (or both) that it goes viral and the whole blogosphere reads about it in the next couple of days? Well, we spotted another wedding that’ll probably make the rounds on the Internet, although for different reasons: the groom and the bride got married dressed and made up to look like Shrek and Fiona (in her ogre form), respectively.
I mean, it’s still fairly sweet (what wedding isn’t?) and the costumes look pretty well made, but I just have to ask: Why?
Heidi Coxshall, 30, and Paul Bellas, 42, tied the knot dressed like ogres because Shrek happens to be their four-year-old son’s favorite movie. Seems like an all-too-simple answer for a very perplexing wedding them. Guests weren’t exempted as they had to attend the wedding dressed up as various cartoon characters as well, like Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
Paul explains: “Leo was watching his Shrek DVD, which he absolutely loves, and Heidi said wouldn’t it be nice if we had a little Shrek wedding. ‘The message behind Shrek is that it doesn’t matter what you look like or who you are, it’s all about true love – I thought it sounded absolutely perfect.”
