Here’s a great piece of synergy. When hiking or camping it’s nice to haul as little gear as necessary and when carrying this SolLight water bottle you’re free to leave your heavy lantern or flashlight at home. Built into the cap you’ll find an LED light which illuminates the entire bottle when powered on.

You don’t even need to carry spare batteries either since the SolLight has a solar panel integrated into the top of the cap and any time the lantern is exposed to light the batteries will be recharged. On a full charge (about 12 hours in direct sunlight) the white LED will last for about 8-10 hours but the cap also includes a night-vision friendly red LED which is actually far more energy-efficient and can run for up to 18 hours on a charge. The batteries in the SolLight are good for about 300 charging cycles and while it can be recharged in any available light (even indoors) charge times will be about 50-80 percent slower when not in direct sunlight.

You can find the SolLight Solar Lantern Water Bottle from a variety of retailers but at the moment Amazon.com lists it for $19.99.
