Smart Stool

By Evan Ackerman

This innocuous looking stool thing is designed to live in a museum as a sort of interactive blog. As soon as you sit on the stool, it starts recording whatever you say, whether you’d like it to or not. After you get up and leave, the stool lifts itself up on a little set of wheels and wanders around looking for people to play the recording back to. The idea is that the stool would facilitate the evolution of an art discussion without people actually having to talk to one another. My guess, though, is that discussion would consist mostly of musings on how much more comfortable the stool would be with a cushion on it.
