It’s hard to get excited about hard drives since they’re inevitably going to get bigger and faster and cheaper. I mean if someone announced a 50TB flash drive tomorrow I’d probably get a little giddy, but odds are that’s not going to happen. So instead I’m going to give a shout out to Seagate and their latest and greatest FreeAgent GoFlex drive.

The black monolith will happily gobble up 1.5TB of your music, ebooks, photos and movies and since it ships with USB 3.0 capabilities you won’t be spending hours on end backing up files over USB 2.0. Assuming of course your PC is already on the USB 3.0 bandwagon. The drive also comes with a Superspeed USB 3.0 cable which will still work with USB 2.0 ports if you haven’t upgraded yet, and will also play nice with all of Seagate’s ‘GoFlex Storage System’ accessories like network adapters and media players. Available now, in the US at least, for $249.99.
