The Saverclip is another concept device designed to show people just how much energy their electronics and appliances use on a daily basis. The idea is that when they’re confronted with obvious proof about how much electricity they’re wasting, they’ll be more inclined to actually do something to remedy the problem.
All you have to do is simply attach the Saverclip to a bunch of power cords and it will detect the electromagnetic fields being emitted by each one. The amount of power being used (particularly when the devices are in a standby-power mode) is displayed on its built-in LCD, shaming you into simply turning things off when you’re not using them.
It was designed by Tsunho Wang, Insu Wang, Jongheui Lee and Youngdon Lee.
