Samsung USB MonitorI am one of those hypergeeks who finds it utterly impossible to focus. I have to be multitasking to be productive, so I’m perpetually running out of desktop real estate, even with two UXGA monitors (which is all that my poor laptop can handle). Weak. Samsung has had the brilliant (albeit obvious?) idea of making a USB plug ‘n play monitor, which contains some flash memory that is able to emulate a low-end VGA graphics card and driver. The Samsung SyncMaster 940UX SXGA LCD also includes a 4 port USB hub, allowing you to daisy-chain up to 5 monitors together using only 1 USB port from your computer.

Although I’d love more desktop, it’s unclear how this works on your computer’s side of things… Indications are that it just sucks up CPU, but there are no specific details on how the drivers function. Should be available in May for a hefty $678 per monitor.
