One of the reasons the iPhone’s got people’s panties up in a bunch, aside from the delicious features, is the way it looks. I mean, hey, there’s so much screen on that thing, it’s almost pornographic. But Apple’s not the only one that can make pretty phones. Coming out of CES, we find that Samsung’s got the ?F500?, dubbed ?Ultra Video?, that (while no iPhone) hasn’t been hit with the ugly stick lately.
Specs wise, the swiveling phone is not half bad:
2.3-inch LCD, the ability to playback DivX, MPEG4, H.264, WMV, and AVI. It also features microSD card slot and ?sweeping? UI that you need to press the button with a quick smooth move to navigate.
It’s not released yet, so internal memory has not been decided yet, and should be available in Korea, Europe and USA market in February or early March, 2007.
But, well, the point here is that it’s a pretty good looking phone, so we’ve included a bunch of pictures inside, for your browsing pleasure. Oh, and a quick note: that BenQ on the pictures, it’s part of AVING’s branded watermark. Really got nothing to do with all this…

The “Ultra Video” looks like an interesting phone. The design looks innovative, the camera component looks great. The unit looks so small that I wonder how how User Interface issues are addressed . Great features with clunky navigation is an issue that continues to grow along with the miniturization of these phones. Great pictures and video that are hard to get to quickly is not that great a feature in the end.
