There’s still no word on when Tiffen’s Steadicam Smoothee might be available, but it’s safe to assume that if and when it goes on sale, it’s not going to cost $29.99. The readySTEADY however costs exactly that, and is available now! Designed to keep compact camcorders like the Flip or Bloggie steady whether you’re moving or not, the readySTEADY is basically the same idea as attaching a string to a camera’s tripod mount, but it’s made of aluminum and generally looks a bit more professional. It also packs away relatively compactly, and with a little practice will probably serve to improve your low-budget cinematography.
