So you’ve finally saved enough to buy yourself that fancy new horseless carriage but you soon find out the included stereo leaves something to be desired. No problem, swapping it out with something fancier is easy to do except for the fact that those handy volume controls on the steering wheel don’t work with aftermarket stereos. This is where the PESWIAKJC comes in. It’s an adapter that works with Alpine, Kenwood, JVC and Clarion stereos that allows them to interface with a vehicle’s existing steering wheel controls. In fact PESWIAKJC apparently stands for ‘Peripheral Electronics Steering Wheel Interface for Alpine, Kenwood, JVC, and Clarion.’

The adapter currently supports select vehicles from GM, Ford, Audi, Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Land Rover, Harley Davidson, BMW, Mini, Nissan, Saab, Honda/Acura, Mazda, Volkswagen, Jaguar, KIA, and Toyota. In fact with GM vehicles the PESWIAKJC retains the functionality of the steering wheel heater and A/C controls as well.

The PESWIAKJC is designed to be sold as an OEM product and having it installed along with a new stereo will add about an extra $90 to your bill.
