Believe it or not, there’s an entire segment of society that obsesses over the optimal mechanics of toothpaste tube emptying. It’s generally accepted that rolling up the tube from below is good, but squeezing it in the middle haphazardly not so much. But design student Nicole Pannuzzo’s idea is interesting, if not seemingly practical. It’s inspired by the art of origami and is said to collapse smoothly and elegantly. It does also look look sort of cool for a toothpaste tube. But alas it’s also over-engineered and will likely leave a good amount of paste even when it’s fully collapsed. And no, there are no plans to make this commercially available but good on Nicole for displaying some creativity.
