With so many iPad cases on the market, it can be a little confusing about what kind will be the most efficient. There are a lot of them out there that have a lot of fluff written about them and don’t live up to par when in practical use. Thankfully there are some out there that will keep you iPad safe, and look stylish while doing so. The iSkin Duo case is the perfect fit for the iPad and is extremely comfortable for those of us that love this Apple product, and want to keep it safe.

This iSkin is made out of premium Japanese silicon, which means your iPad will be safe from dings and scratches. Unlike some cases I’ve run across in the past, this case actually fits perfectly on the first try. There wasn’t and still aren’t any weird creases or bumps that you would normally hope will “stretch out” in time. The silicon the case is made out of has antimicrobial protection, which will inhibit grow of odor, mold, or stains.

Upon first inspection I was weary as I am of most cases, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this has been the best case I’ve used to date. Only a bit of the metal is exposed for the screen lock, and speakers and dock connector on the bottom.

As for protection, this is a slightly above average case as it has about a centimeter of silicon to protect the back, sides and some of the screen. The back of the iPad is covered by colored silicon that comes up over the sides and flows seamlessly into a black silicon that has a pattern on it. The black area only covers only what is not functional on the screen and doesn’t have a sheer drop-off to the edge or the screen. A smooth downward slope to the screen helps if you’re playing a game requires you to swipe across the entirety of the screen. It’s also a very snug fit that almost adheres to the screen. The volume, standby, and home button are all covered by the same material and are raised so they aren’t hard to find. The audio jack gets it’s own special little insert flap to keep it dust-free and responsive. The bottom left and right halves of the back has extra padding with some texture for those of us who are holding iPads all the time.

It may be a little costly at $49.99, but for the comfort, perfect fit, and protection this case provides, I’d say it’s definitely worth it. Plus you can find it for considerably less if you shop around. You can also find color combinations such as all black, gray, yellow, purple, pink, red, and blue; all come with the patterned black that appears on the face of the iPad.
