The world would be a far more entertaining place if Joel, Crow and Tom were always around providing endless running commentary on life’s daily happenings, but with a heaping spoonful of imagination these MST3Shades could be the next best thing. Sure, you’ll have to make up all the jokes yourself, and odds are they’ll pale in comparison to what used to come out of the Satellite of Love, but as long as you’re wearing these clever acrylic glasses you can pretend your whole life is one long, terrible B-movie worthy of mockery.

You can download a technical drawing of the MST3Shades created by ‘gianteye‘ on Thingiverse, but the laser cutter and 1/8″ acrylic you’ll need to supply yourself.

  1. Easily done with a scroll saw.

    Anyway, a bit of nostalgia:

The format used on MST3000 was taken from a skit done on a short lived late night talk/variety show called “The Alan Thicke Show”.

  2. No thanks, my life sucks enough, I don't need three people tearing it apart and making every peanut gallery comment in the world about what I'm doing. lol I miss MST3000. My graphic's teacher used to play it in class while we worked.

  3. How well can you see the silhouettes when you are wearing the glasses? Wouldn't it be much cheaper to just take a Sharpie to your sunglasses instead of buying a laser cutter and all of that plastic?
