MJ Bale Power suit

Mobile payments is all that retailers and service providers talk about these days. From NFC and swiping your phone across the terminal to pressing your palm against a monitor to pay for stuff, the options are numerous and varied. Another one to join the fray is tailor MJ Bale with the Samurai Suit that’s obviously more than just a suit (because why else would we talk about it if it were, right?)

MJ’s power suit has a Visa payWave-accessible microchip sown right onto the sleeve, essentially turning it into a wearable credit or debit card of sorts. So whenever you’re ready to check out and pay, just move your hand across the terminal and bam!–you’re done.

Eleven prototypes have been made so far, with the latest suit being auctioned off on eBay for the benefit of 4 ASD Kids charity. MJ Bale plans to incorporate this technology into their suits after their trial run with Visa and the Queensland-based Heritage Bank is completed.

As luck and a whole lot of work would have it, Hazel got her cake and is eating it, too: sifting through endless paperwork during the day while blogging for various tech and gadgetry blogs during the night. She also established her own gadgetry blog recently, which you can check out at Gigadgetry.com.
