When I was younger, to say I was a fan of Jurassic Park was a bit of an understatement. Not only did I love the movie, but I seemed to have a soft spot for Jurassic Park themed video games. I played the Super Nintendo version far more than it deserved to be played, and I’m probably one of only a handful of people who actually enjoyed the ambitious Trespasser PC game when it came out. (Despite a mountain of bugs that have ensured I’ve never finished the game to this day.)

So I was kind of excited to stumble across the Jurassic Life Source Mod that’s being developed by a group of Jurassic Park fans. The story they’ve created takes place during the first (and really, the only) Jurassic Park film, and you play as Robert Muldoon (the game warden) who’s trying to stop a competing bio-engineering company from stealing embryos, while surviving on an island filled with dinosaurs that’s run amuck. So far the screenshots are looking really impressive, and at the moment you can download a beta version of the ‘Jurassic Life: Visitor Center Structure’ level if you want to give it a go.
