From Hammacher Schlemmer, the company that prides itself on selling things no one really needs comes this children’s comforter that can both light-up as well as play sounds.
Available in only twin sizes the comforter incorporates over 100 twinkling LEDs as well as a hidden speaker which produces a three-minute light and sound show designed to help children fall asleep. There are specific versions for boys and girls too each with different designs and sounds.
Now I can understand the girls comforter which has sounds like purring, gentle breezes and babbling brooks being helpful for falling asleep but the boys version plays sounds like truck engines, sirens and walkie-talkies. After living in the city for 10 years I personally don’t find the sounds of a police or fire emergency in my bedroom that soothing but I guess that’s just me.
