I’m sure if you close your eyes and meditate a little, you’ll find a thousand practical uses to being able to record your conversations on Skype. And of course, you can.

Hotrecorder allows you to do just that, and they’ve recently announced compatibility with not just Skype, but GoogleTalk as well. There’s a free ad-supported version. Removing the ads will cost you $15.

I’ve no idea how well this thing works. If anyone out there has tried it, let us all know.

  1. Of course you could always save yourself the $15 by simply changing your windows recording source from MIC, to Stereo mix (or “what you hear” for creative labs sound card users) and then hit record with any sound program (even that useless “sound recorder” program that comes with windows (under the accessories program folder)
