Then the dreaded call comes from the boss: he wants you to work overtime. What’s an employee to do but follow and cancel the plans for the evening?
In case you can’t cancel or absolutely don’t want to (read: hot date), then the Happy Hour Virus might be able to help you out. It’s a tool that gives you fake computer problems so you can leave and be merry.
Users can choose from three problems: kernel panic, broken monitor, or the blue screen of death. The site’s creator, TDA_Boulder, explains:
Please use the Happy Hour Virus to leave work early and enjoy the company of friends, family or co-workers. We are aware that this might jeopardize your productivity the following day, but we are willing to take that risk on your behalf.
Just make sure your boss doesn’t figure it out and hits the ‘escape’ button before you can make your escape.
