The thing about routines is that they can be boring. Since life is basically composed of a series of routines, then you might want to mix things up every once in a while so you don’t fall into a slump. The simplest way to do that is to get a hobby or learn something new. Eager to help you out on the latter is Give It 100, which is an interactive site that encourages people to practice something for a hundred days.

The premise is simple. You start off with choosing a skill or hobby that you want to learn or take up, like dancing or painting. You can sign up for lessons or teach yourself by looking for tutorials online. Through the website, you’re then tasked to upload a ten-second video to show your progress at your current project.

You can practice every day, every other day, or whenever you feel like it, although you should probably have a go at it on a daily basis if you’re really serious about learning. When 100 days is up, you can choose to extend your project to 365 days or to an unlimited number of days, thereby making it a part of your routine. Then you can start all over and learn something new again.

Give It 100 was founded by Karen Cheng and Finbarr Taylor.
