Maybe I’ve been using them all wrong but I’ve been less than impressed with the performance of most blower bulbs. As a result I tend to stick with compressed air which is unfortunately not the cheapest solution considering it’s really just a can filled with air.

The Giottos Rocket-Air Blower Bulb is made from non-toxic silica gel and is huge by most blower bulb standards. It provides a very powerful blast, almost equivalent to compressed air and can easily dislodge dust and particles even those held by static electricity. And the futuristic rocket design is functional too allowing the Rocket-Air to be easily stood on its fins preventing it from rolling off a table.

The Giottos Rocket-Air is currently available from most camera retailers. The large model pictured above runs about $10.00 but smaller versions are also available.

  1. Does it work like a compressed air can? cuz I’d be very interested if it does so that I could use it to clean my PC inside, compressed air can thingies are not sold where I live and you can’t bring it with you on a plane from the US either because of regulations.

  2. I’ve ot one of those; it’s basically a squeezebulb, but the tip is so narrow that the air comes out nearly as strong as compressed air. It cleaned the CCD sensor on my Nikon with one blast, removing some interfering dust.

It’s also a great way to confound and/or annoy cats.
