Remember those lazy summer nights spent running through fields capturing fireflies in a big mason jar? Yeah me neither. My childhood was spent in the suburbs where we had plenty of electricity so alternative lighting solutions weren’t needed but I can still appreciate the quaintness of these Firefly Lamps.
I don’t want to spoil the magic here but these modern versions are basically made from a few white LED lights strung up in a large glass jar. But at least the battery and other electronic bits are cleverly hidden underneath the metal lid except of course for the power switch on top.
You might be tempted to make your own Firefly Lamp but at only $25 from Etsy I’d just save yourself the trouble and get one of these instead.

just a note from the girl who makes these little buggers: even if you didn’t grow up putting fireflies in jars, i think you’ll apprecieate the idea once you see these little LED’s twinkling around…
P.S. i relisted the item on ETSY so please feel free to check them out: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=5464931
