They say necessity is the mother of invention, but who’s the father? Well that would be Will of course, because where there’s a will, there’s a way. Or it could also be this guy, who created an automatic baby walker using a cheap stroller, a not-so-cheap battery powered electric drill and a little ingenuity. The front wheels are permanently fused at an angle so the stroller just goes in circles, but it’s apparently enough to put his son to sleep, even with the drill’s electric motor running right next to his head.

  1. That youtube video has been up for over a year with 15,000+ views and oddly only 2 comments. Hmm, looks like someone doesn't appreciate being reminded of what an “awesome” father he is.

  3. hahaha, that's awesome… but the noise of the drill and the baby moving around in the same circle is probably really really bad for that child… of course, no mother or father interaction would do harm.
but that is a neat invention… and I like your comment: where there's a will there's a way.

  4. Whew!!! It’s a very enormous invention! But it would be better if the sound it makes while moving will be minimized in order not to frighten the baby. Inventions are at times otherworldly and amazing, and at times very mundane. The U.S. is a land that has a long history of them. Some of America’s most famous inventions include things like bifocals, the polio vaccine, and some controversial ones as well. There have been a few in the last year or two which seem straight out of science fiction. A flying car that gets 35 mpg, which can fold its wings and fit into the average garage, and it goes for about $200,000. There’s also a GPS headset system that mounts directly to a cow’s head-now we can finally find where the beef is. No doubt that the rest of the century will reveal some other astonishing inventions.

  6. Cute. Indigenous materials made to life. But is it safe for the baby to be left alone while going round and round? Hmmm, I don't think so. In totality, it's an okay “invention” because the mother or the father may be able to finish their other task while the baby is enjoying his “play”.
