It’s sad that very often the best ideas just end up as concepts or prototypes and can’t be bought. At least, it looks that way for the Ductpan (a dustpan with a duct…) from designer Kawamura Ganjavian. The concept has been floating around the interwebs for some time and we think it’s time that someone actually make this a reality. With social funding sites like Kickstarter, it shouldn’t be so hard.

  1. It’s not really a good idea. Think about it – after you use a dustpan and brush, what angle do you usually hold it – especially if the items are light or bulky? This is certainly a case of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’

Also, where can you clip the brush to the pan?

    Just sayin…

  2. I actually had a dust pan very similar to this, a while back and I agree with John G., it’s really not a good design.  It’d be great if you kept your trash can up high as it’s pictured above, but if you keep your trash can on the floor like a normal person a regular dust pan is still a better option.
