People have been carrying their hot coffee in Thermos mugs for pretty much as long as the company has been around. But some purists will tell you that the taste doesn’t come close to that of a freshly brewed cup. So that’s where Mojoe comes in. It’s a self-contained coffee brewing device that does everything from A to Z.

The Mojoe uses a “VacDrip” brewing process, which combines elements of vacuum brewing and drip brewing. After pouring water into the center chamber and filling the reusable filter with grounds, you turn the Mojoe on via the push button on the side. The element heats the water up (to 200° F (93° C), hot enough to do a proper extraction) and the ensuing steam pushes the water up through the siphon and over the grounds, filling the coffee chamber with hot, freshly brewed joe. The process takes about 10 minutes. You can preload cream and sugar or add it after brewing. The Mojoe also doubles as a travel mug, so you drink directly from it.

The company will sell you extra battery three-packs so you can keep on brewing even after you’ve exhausted the single-brew battery. The only downside of this system is that in order to incorporate everything in one small-enough size mug, you can only make 8.5 fl oz (251 ml) of actual coffee. That’s less than Americans are used to, but might not deter the sort of person who goes to this sort of length to get super fresh coffee.

You can get your own you’ll have to drop a $79 on their fully-funded Kickstarter, and wait until May 2016 to get yours.
