Audio Cassette Skull And Skeleton (Images courtesy Andrew Huff)

Well here’s some rather morbid proof for anyone that doubted the audio cassette format is finally deceased. Artist Brian Dettmer managed to find a good use for some old Motley Crue and Judas Priest cassettes by melting and forming them into a set of human skulls and skeletons.

The pieces were on display at the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago as part of Brian’s ‘Postoperative’ exhibit but that particular exhibition ended on April 20. Now I suspect they’re just sitting in his basement creeping out anyone who goes down to get something from the freezer.
