A traditional in-ear Bluetooth device is pretty much useless when it comes to activities that require you to wear a helmet, like say, riding a motorcycle. But BlueAnt’s Stereo F4 Interphone kit features a weatherproof Bluetooth device that sits on the outside of a helmet, with a set of thin headphones and a mic that sit inside. The F4 pairs up to 8 different Bluetooth devices allowing you to make and receive calls on 2 different phones, hear audio directions from a GPS navigation device and even listen to music streamed over A2DP from an MP3 player.
BlueAnt claims the microphone still works at speeds up to 110mph, and if you’re riding with a buddy the device also includes a bike-to-bike intercom mode allowing you to keep in touch up to a distance of 1,640 feet. Available now from the BlueAnt online store for $225.

Nice! But I'm sure someone must make helmets with all this stuff built in.
I think this device will sell like crazy. I know they have helmets with helmet to helmet but I do not know of any with bluetooth technology. The versatility of this device is very appealing as well.
Helmet to helmet is nice, but I love trying to communicate by helmet taps when I'm riding passenger.
there are a few mfg's making helmets with bt installed. most are aftermarket products.

I have the Parrot SK4000 unit. It's OK but I find that sometime the BT signal drop and I have to re-pair the set.
helmets *must* be replaced every 5 years regardless of visible condition. it's hard enough to do with the high-end fancy pants super-light composite helmets, riders don't need any further encouragement to not replace their lids in due time.
The F4 is like a leach on my helmet-don't even know it's there. Bought mine at RadioRider com and came usps priority fast. I rock while riding and make/take calls to get my buddies out of the house. It's awesome!!
