I don’t quite understand the reasoning behind this. Headsets.com has announced that it will give out free Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth headsets to people that have been ticketed for talking on a cellphone (without a headset) while driving.

All you have to do is fill out a form and send in your ticket (Dated AFTER July 1, 2008) and the headset is yours. Only the first 734 offenders will get the headsets and the offer is valid for US residents only.

I just wonder how this is helpful since it rewards one of the most hated demographics (cellphone drivers that aren’t paying attention to the road) of the modern age with a free gift. It makes me wonder if anyone would intentionally try and get caught by the police just so they can get the headset.

Still, if you already got a ticket, you might as well make the most of it and get that free headset.

  1. Most people that drive and use the phone at the same time are in another world. Driving behind them is extremely frustrating and most are just women rambling to their girlfriends (who they will likely be seeing within the hour). This is not only dangerous but selfish. Cops seldom pull over people for cel phones even though it’s on a par with drunk driving.
