First of all I have to say the practice of listing every single variant of compact flash, memory stick, SD or MMC in order to rack up some impressive card compatibility number is pretty lame. However at least this cardreader manages to add bluetooth functionality on top of everything meaning you don’t need to have a seperate BT dongle on your system.
Of course in an ideal world the bluetooth functionality on this cardreader would allow devices like phones, PDAs or printers to access any memory cards attached but it’s pretty clear this won’t let you do that. However given bluetooth ver 1.2 (which is what this reader supports) only has data transfer rates of about 300 Kbps accessing anything on the memory cards over BT would be pretty painful. Thankfully the reader supports USB 2 which has a respectable transfer rate of 480 Mbps instead.
The bluetooth cardreader is currently available from ThinkGeek for $29.99.

Call me when they make an internal version, the last thing I need is another small doo-hicky on my desk to clutter it up more.
