3-in-1-mouse

By Chris Scott Barr

I’ve never been able to understand trackball mice. No matter how much I use one, I still find it to be uncomfortable and less accurate than a traditional mouse. Nevertheless, some people swear by them. Well if you happen to be one of those people and in need of a number pad for your keyboard, then you’ll love this gadget.

The Track Ball Mouse Numerical Keypad Hub has got just about everything you’d want in a crazy hybrid gadget. You’ve got your mouse, number pad and even a pair of USB ports. Seriously, how many of you can say that your mouse is also a USB hub? That’s what I thought. For just under $60 you can blow the minds of each and every one of your coworkers.

  1. The problem with people who use track ball mice is that they want to feel special. As if they are too special for a normal mouse so they have to use that ridiculous contraption. I have an office mate who uses it and always has a smug look on his stoopid face when people try to use him computer and find it difficult using the trackball mouse. He will say ,' Oh I never use a normal mouse. I find it too difficult. I dont know how you people can ever use it.' He will say it so proudly like he is so much better than all of us. He is not. He is an idiot.

  2. Actually this would be handy for someone that punches numbers all day. I actually know someone that does this one handed for hours a day as part of her job.

  3. I think it is a matter of personal preference…mouse vs. trackball. I got used to them in the early 90s and just really enjoy the feel (I am also EXTREMELY accurate with my trackball). Also, studies have shown that those using trackballs are less likely to develop any type of repetitive stress injury.

That said, if you like trackballs or keyboards with trackballs, I found a site that has a HUGE variety…Trackball World. Good pricing and great customer service. Check it out!

  4. I don't think I'm better than anyone. If you knew anything about me you'd know it's the exact opposite. That being said, I love my track ball mouse! I use a traditional one at work and for my laptop. Which is what I think this would be perfect for. Since my laptop's number pad is part of the keyboard and not separate. $60 is a bit much for me, but maybe someone would get me one for Christmas.

  5. haha no need to apologize, the fact is, there are those that do think that way and well, we as a society have to live with those stereotypes with lots of situations. He probably is that way, and I'm sorry you have to deal with him. I'd throw the ball at him…lol I was just saying before I started that I'm not, I wasn't saying that your wrong. I'm sure most of the users are that way.

  6. Trackball mice are great for 3D CAD design. I have used one for nearly 10yrs… I hate dragging a mouse around the desk all day so a track ball keeps me from having to do this! I actually like this one! its very similar to the Logitech trackball I am currently using but will provide the addition of a numerical keypad since i usually work on a laptop.

  7. “The problem with people who use track ball mice is that they want to feel special”-franco1975.. One of the largest markets for trackball devices (not counting industry) are actually people with some mobility impairment. Oh, and also check out this new site that specializes in Wireless Trackballs.
