I’ve seen a lot of innovation in my lifetime, like a game & watch crammed into a single device, crystal clear colas and even my fair share of sass-talking robots (ok, just one) but I never thought I’d see the day when man would develop a pen so small and flat that it could actually be carried in a shirt pocket! But the Falter 2D Pen manages to do just that since it comes as a flat-packed kit that you disassemble and fold into a 3-dimensional body for a standard ball point ink cartridge. The handmade kit comes with a key that makes it easier to properly bend the metal as per the instructions, and while the final product doesn’t look like it will win any awards for ergonomics, it does come with the satisfaction that you made it yourself. (Kind of.) UncommonGoods has them for $39, and you might want to order a few since once they’re assembled I’m pretty sure they cease to be pocket-friendly.
