We’ve seen plenty of DeLoreans for sale on eBay over the years but many of them have been customized to look like the one seen in the Back To The Future films. Well here’s yet another DeLorean for sale but this one might actually be of some interest to real car collectors. This is the actual DeLorean DMC-12 prototype that was photographed and featured in nearly every auto magazine in 1977 when the car was introduced. Even if you’re not a fan of the DeLorean it’s still an interesting piece of automotive history. (As was John himself.)

The current owner, Tony Ierardi bought the car in 2005 and spent a year restoring it to it’s original condition. However he’s now looking to sell the vehicle in order to help grow his company which just happens to be the DeLorean Motor Company of Florida.

Hagerty Collector car insurance has placed an agreed value of $500,000 on the prototype but the current bid on eBay only sits at $145,100.
