Wood Veneer Cover For Your PS4

ps4-lifestyle-sd_1024x1024

Wood is the new black. Maybe. We’re not sure how cool wood is to be honest, but we can tell you we’re not hating on Balolo’s Wooden Cover for the Playstation 4. It’s made from a 0.7mm thin layer of actual wood, and you have the option of buying the cover and applying it yourself, or ordering a PS4 from the company with the cover already applied. You have a choice between walnut, bamboo, ‘zebra’, and cherry wood, and the cover only will set you back a hefty €149, or $205. Adding a PS4 along with that brings the price up to €599, or $826, which means there’s a roughly $200 bump for the cover’s installation. Maybe you can figure it out yourself?

Original Grain Watches Are Gorgeous – A Hands-On Opinion

Green_Sandal_Creative_1024x1024

Sure, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But I’ve had an Original Grain watch for the last week or so and I have to say, it’s one of the most outstanding timepieces I’ve owned. It doesn’t have any high-tech features, but it does have one of the most eye-catching wooden constructions I’ve come across. The combination of matte black metal with wooden elements plays off wonderfully, and it’s nice to know the face is protected with solid sapphire crystal, as opposed to glass. This means it’s pretty much scratch resistant. They don’t do much more than tell time, but will attract attention and I think they’re definitely worth the roughly $200 investment. They come in Indian Rosewood, Maple, and Green Sandalwood flavours, and are water resistant. However, given the fact that wood is used, extended exposure may end up damaging the material so try not to abuse their water-resisting abilities.

Wooden Transformer: Boxed Turns Into a Wide Variety of Wooden Furniture

Boxed

It’s amazing what you can do with a few shaped and polished pieces of wood. At first glance, Boxed looks like a plain and ordinary wooden suitcase that carries a bunch of random blocks of wood. But if you know how to put them all back together and piece the shapes together, then you can assemble a wide variety of furniture that you can actually use–like stools, a desk, a coffee table, and even a lamp.

How About A Little Wood For An iPhone Case?

The iPhone 5 is nigh, and its relatively minor cosmetic changes mean that the entire accessory ecosystem gets to start churning out a new generation of products once again. We’ll soon be flooded by new docks, clocks, robots, and teddy bears that work with the newest iPhone. Of the first batch of these, we really like the above Miniot Book. It’s made from hand crafted wood and gives your phone a kind of organic chic that we feel serves as a good counterbalance to the phone’s industrial coldness. A slotted hinge along the side lets you turn one side of the cover into an angled stand so it’s kind of dual-purpose as well.

Of course, the words “hand-crafted wood” don’t typically find themselves in the same sentence as the word “cheap” (well… except here), and the Minion Book is no exception: $143 once it’s launched.

Oh, You Hipster You And Your Wooden Handlebar

We feel that riding the hipster hate train is getting a little old. Not because we like them any more, but just because we get it already. So it’s with a little bit of nonchalance that we bring you news of what we would normally consider outrageous: £245 oak handlebars. Yeah, that’s about $387 for a wooden stick. Granted, it’s a very pretty stick, shaped properly and made to fit an over-sized (31.8mm) stem. Made by London-based Deer Runner, it is “crafted from 4mm plied oak oil treated for weather protection.” And the brakes? Hipsters don’t need no brakes, guys. They ride fixies, remember? That’s those bikes with just one gear and where deceleration is accomplished by pushing your feet in the opposite direction, in case you’re not familiar.

So yeah, $400 wooden handlebars. Hit the jump for more pictures and links.
