This Useless Box is Utterly Useless

Useless Box

What’s in a name? Well, in the case of the Useless Box, everything, because its name basically gives it away. This fancy-looking box with the regal feel is nothing more than junk, given the fact that it’s useless. It makes the perfect gift for your sworn enemy and for people you feel like pranking this season because despite appearances, the box exists to disappoint.

The moment you flick that switch to turn the box on, it automatically turns itself off, no matter how many times you try.

Captain Jules’s Useless Box is a very simple device. Inside the wooden box (with real metal accents) resides a bunch of gears and the latest in electricity-powered motors. Turn the switch on, and a bit of machinery will poke out and flip the switch off. That’s all the Captain Jules’s Useless Box does. But it’s enough of an oddity to make it right at home on your desk or bookshelf.

Would you shell out $40 for something so useless? ThinkGeek seems to think so.

HashKey Is A 1-key Keyboard For The Hashtag

hashkey-1-key-keyboard-by-ben-gomori

Let it be a commentary on our lives today that someone somewhere thought it a good idea to create a one-key keyboard dedicated to the mighty hashtag. The HashKey for the social media junkies out there who spend their days tagging their posts with endless keywords in the hopes that they’ll get picked up in searches, and people will “like” the posts, and they’ll finally be able to convince themselves that it’s not really the posts all these strangers like, but actually them… Or something. The point is you’re looking at a USB-conencted gadget whose only purpose is to generate the ASCII character “#” on your screen. Yes, it’s an actual product but no, you can’t just outright buy it. You’ll have to pledge £18, or roughly $28, to get yours by March 2015. However, the campaign is far from fully funded, and no one is really surprised.

Semi-rigid Cubic Rubber Bands

rubber-1

These are sort of neat. They’re rubber bands shaped like a wireframe cube. They keep their shape, but of course they stretch since they’re rubber bands. They’re easy to find in a drawer, and we suppose that’s it as far as their advantages are concerned. And here come the disadvantages, or rather the disadvantage: it’s $10 for 3! They’re 20mm per side, if you must know, though to be honest if you end up buying these we have something to tell you: you have too much disposable income!

Awesome: Website Finds Picture Of Random Person Pointing At Your Cursor

pointer-pointer

Want to waste a few minutes? Head on over to PointerPointer and move your mouse cursor around. When it stops, the website searches its database to find a picture of someone pointing exactly where your cursor is. It’s pretty cool. And then it’s not and you move on. That’s Internet ADD; it’s normal.
