Would you pay $30 or even $150 for a coin that only has a legal tender value of $2? The obvious answer is ‘no.’ Obviously no one in their right minds would have over so much cash for a coin that has so little value. But you’d be surprised to hear that many people do so on a regular basis, because they’re not just buying regular old $2 coins. They’re buying special, limited-edition mints that might be worth thousands, even tens of thousands, in the future.

This Is How ‘The Hobbit’ Should Have Ended

The thing about trilogies is that they’re often made to leave you hanging, at least in the case of the first two movies. One of the most excruciating trilogies to wait for a conclusion to was The Lord of the Rings, and it looks like Peter Jackson is putting us all through that same agony once more with The Hobbit. We already know how it’s going to end, since it’s the prequel and all, but seeing the events play out on the big screen is a different experience altogether.

Without going into the debate on whether The Hobbit should or shouldn’t have been made into a trilogy, we present to you this hilarious video of How the Hobbit Should Have Ended. I won’t spoil anything, but all I’m saying is that if this had happened, then there would be no need for LOTR either. Enjoy!

Ringwraith Coat Will Set You Back Two Large

A lot of people are getting excited about The Hobbit, about to hit theaters. We understand: it is directed by Peter Jackson of LOTR fame, so it’s bound to be pretty awesome. We, however, aren’t quite excited enough to want to don something like the above Wraith Coat. Or at the very least, we’re not willing to fork over the asking price. Made from Italian wool and silk knit sleeves, the coat certainly looks… different and is sure to be a hit among hardcore fans. But only among hardcore fans with a pretty deep wallet, seeing as it’s listed for $2,136.

A Bedroom Like Bilbo’s, Straight From His Little House in the Shire

We’ve got two more weeks before Bilbo Baggins’ epic adventure hits the big screen. Peter Jackson and the rest of his crew are currently working feverishly on post-production for The Hobbit, and it’s set to be completed just two days before the big opening. Talk about a close call.

I’m not going a grand adventure like Bilbo is, although I am making a huge move to a new place next year. So you can just imagine the geek in me scream out (while my boring, serious external stuff maintained a calm demeanor) when I spotted this cozy-looking get-up that looks like it came straight from the set of The Hobbit!

Plush Halfling Slippers are Perfect for Bringing Out the Hobbit in You

J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit doesn’t hit theaters until December, but that doesn’t mean you have to hold back on your inner hobbit any longer. These Plush Halfling Slippers are ultra comfortable, ultra plushy, and ultra hairy–just like any regular, old hobbit’s feet. Except for the plushy and comfortable part. Top that off with yellow toenails and your own feet could pass off for that of an old hobbit’s.

There’s still two full months before Halloween comes along, but you might want to get a pair of these if you’re planning on dressing up in a hobbit costume. Or, you know, you could chill in your  bedroom in these ginormous slippers for the heck of it.
