You Can Now Get A Close Shave With LASERS

The game of shaving hasn’t changed much in a few thousand years. But in the technological age, isn’t it about time we took a look at that? The Skarp Laser Razor uses a laser to shave. That’s right, a laser! The device itself looks somewhat like a regular razor, but it packs a specially calibrated laser that is able to instantly cut through hair.

Wavelengths of light had already been discovered that could cut through dark hair, but finding a way to cut light hair was proving incredibly difficult.

After years of research & development, the makers discovered a chromophore in the hair that would be cut when hit with a particular light wavelength.

Chromophores are particles that absorb certain wavelengths (colors) of light.

This chromophore they identified is shared by every human, regardless of age, gender or race.

The Skarp Laser Razor promises a close shave, with no scratches, no razor burn, no need for water or shaving cream. You’ll be able to shave at the same speed you always do, and you can even do it in the shower. One AAA battery lasts about one year, and the laser itself has a life of 50,000 hours. It’s low power so it doesn’t present a danger for your eyes and no, it won’t create a burnt smell as it does its thing.

To get your own, you’ll have to pledge $189 and wait until March 2016 for delivery.

Caffeinated Shaving Products Kick Start Your Mornings

Can you even absorb caffeine through your skin? We’re not sure, but we’re going to assume you can because otherwise we’re not sure what the point of this product is. Caffeinated Shaving Cream and After Shave from Pacific Shaving Company are two products that claim to help give your morning a bit of a kickstart thanks to the addition of caffeine to their panoply of other moisturizers, antioxidants, and related ingredients. Apparently caffeine will serve as a vasoconstrictor, tightening your blood vessels and helping your skin look smoother a less red. And yeah, they claim caffeine is indeed absorbed through the skin, although we can’t imagine you’ll be able to replace your morning coffee with your shaving routine anytime soon.

Still, something interesting to try, if only because it’s $16 for the set.

What’s The Easiest Way To Shave Your Head?

With this cool HeadBlade ATX All Terrain Head Razor, of course. At least, we imagine that if you’re going to go for the completely bald look, you could do much worse than by using the above product. It’s a blade mounted on an ergonomic handle, which also features wheels. It looks like a mini ATV, and you’re meant to roll it around your noggin for a little bit, until you’ve no hairs left. The handle is rubberized, for comfort and convenience, and while it isn’t the first such product on the market, we haven’t seen one with wheels before. We imagine this contributes to a no-nick, no-cut shave. It’s $15 and comes with one blade.

Hyperglide Razors With Self-Lubricating Cartridges: Smoothest Shave Ever?

HyperGlide Razors1

Razor burns and nicks are not only painful, but they also mess up your face for a short period of time, too. Of course, shaving cream helps some, but if you can’t be bothered to put it on before every shave, then these Hyperglide Razors are a worthy alternative. Made by King of Shaves, these multi-tasting razors come with self-lubricating cartridges that release its own shaving gel of sorts when it comes into contact with water.

That means you’ll be able to get a closer, smoother shave with just the razor and nothing more. The Hyperglide Razors are available online for £9.99 (about $17).
