Protect That Darn Apple Watch

Lunatik-Epik-H20-Waterproof-Case

Delicate electronics on your wrist always seemed like an accident waiting to happen, at least in our eyes. In the eyes of Lunatik as well, it seems, since they make the Epik H2O Waterproof Polycarbonate Case and Silicone Strap for Apple Watch. It wraps your fancy wrist-worn computer in a rugged silicone waterproof casing, protecting the Apple Watch from impact, and providing resistance to water up to a 50M/165ft Depth (5ATM). There’s a knurled oversized crown for easy access and use in physical activities, and the soft silicone band comes with an anti-dust and dirt nano coating that enhances sensor connection with your wrist. The RokPak Keeps Your Stuff Dry, Charged, And Protected

rokpak-1

There are times where you’re going to want to go outdoors. We know, it’s weird, but it happens. In those occasions, especially when you’re off the beaten path, you might want to consider putting your delicate electronics in a safer place. The RokPak is a waterproof container that keeps your phone safe, dry, and protected from bumps and scrapes all the while charging it thanks to its 12,000 mAh battery and solar panel. There are two USB outputs, as well as a net to keep your other items away from your phone, like your keys and a few cards.

The RokPak consists first and foremost of a tough waterproof case measuring 9.6 x 5 x 2.8 inches (246 x 128 x 70 millimeters). The case is lined with silicone, which makes a nice soft home for your delicate electronics; the makers told Gizmag that the RokPak can even take a fall from four feet (1.2 m) against a hard surface and still keep things safe. There’s a also a silicone net on one side that holds items in place. The case also floats and insulates against extreme heat (temps up to 176°F/80°C) and extreme cold (-4°F/-20°C).

Additional features include an LED flashlight, as well as an emergency beacon that will flash for up to 200 hours if the case falls in the water, making it easier to find.

You’ll have to pony up a hefty chunk of change to get your own: “you can get the RokPak for the early bird price of US$159. After those are gone, the price climbs to $169, then $179, which represents $50 off the eventual retail price of a whopping $229.”

A Prickly Armored Vest To Protect Your Little Dog From Attacks

coyotevest-5

You’re walking around with a Pitbull or a Rottweiler, you know the guy can take care of himself. But that little Terrier, or that fluffy Pomeranian? They’re just a juicy target for any would-be predator. Sure, you can walk alongside your Poodle, but what if you want him to go for a run by himself? He could be in the jaws of a wild Coyote before you know it. At least, that’s what happened to the creators of the CoyoteVest, pictured above, and their little dog was never seen again. That’s when they decided to create this prickly vest, meant to be worn by dogs up to 20 pounds. The neck is studded with twelve 1″ spikes, firmly embedded in a stiff yet flexible triple laminated Kevlar® collar. The rest of the body is protected with a “stab-resistant layer of Kevlar® body armor that can resist sharp canine teeth.” There’s an optional set of quills that you can stick on the back of your dog, and even more impressively, there’s even an optional CoyoteZapper that lets you pretty much Taser whichever animal is biting your pet. You can think of the CoyoteVest as body armour for your pet, and at $109 for the Starter Pack, it’s not outrageously priced.

The following article is brought to you by The Tech Info Group – Ed

Athena helps protect women from sexual assault with one push of a button.

Sexual assault is a serious issue in every country. When founder Yasmine Mustafa came to realize the severity of the issue after a South American solo trip she decided to use her time and energy for the development of a solution for change. It was with this goal in mind that ROAR for Good was born, along with their flagship anti-assault device, Athena.

The Athena is a state-of-the-art device designed specifically to be as effective as possible while maintaining a level of inconspicuousness. The idea behind Athena is to ward off an attacker before any damage can be done while simultaneously calling for help from the authorities and any other contacts you wish. When Athena is activated it releases a powerful alarm and will send text message containing the individual’s location to emergency contacts.

A Collapsible Bike Helmet, For Your Convenience

closca-helmet

Despite your brain being protected by nothing more than a slim bony shell that tends to fracture if you knock it a little too hard, plenty of cyclists still opt to ride without a helmet. It’s somewhat understandable, given their bulk. But the Closca Fuga Black collapsible helmet offers a potential alternative that might sway those who would wear protection if only it would fit in their bags.

The helmet is made of three circular shell components, which fold down and nest inside each other to make a package that fits inside a bag. According to manufacturer Closca, the helmet has passed certification in Europe, Canada and the States, thanks to a combination of polystyrene and polycarbonate in the shell.

The helmet even features hidden air vents, so you won’t overheat in the hot summer sun. It’s not necessarily the prettiest thing to look at, but what it lacks in looks it makes up for in convenience and protection. It’ll set you back €72.00 ($77USD), with shipping in Spring.

Bulletsafe

Smart Pepper Spray Immobilizes Your Attacker, Takes Their Picture Too

Smart Pepper Spray

Pepper spray may send assailants running, but it won’t exactly help you catch the bad guys if they still have their bearings after being sprayed on and manage to run from the scene of the crime. Regular pepper spray, that is, because the Defender lets you do both. It’s a smart pepper spray gizmo that does a lot of things aside from peppering attackers with pepper spray.

First of all, it takes their picture, which will be useful when you have to identify them from a police lineup. Since it’s connected to Defender’s 24/7 Monitoring Service, it also sends your GPS coordinates to law enforcement and emergency responders at the push of a button so they’ll know where to find you. It’s also equipped with speakers and an oscillating light that sounds and lights up to alert people nearby that there’s a crime in progress (and possibly thwarted already.)

Wink Glasses

A lot of people who use computers end up with dry eyes because they don’t blink as much as they should. Attempting to correct that and encourage users to blink at regular intervals are the Wink Glasses. The lenses fog up and become opaque for a tenth to two tenths of a second every ten seconds, forcing the wearer to blink or wink in the process.

The glasses prevent more than just the discomfort from dry eyes. It also prevents computer vision syndrome, which is caused by “focusing the eyes on a computer display for uninterrupted periods of time.” People with CVS report have reported headaches, eye redness, and even double vision, which makes the whole thing a complete pain to have.
