Magic Phone Stand: Whatever Floats Your Phone

This phone stand is called Magic for a reason: it makes your phone look like it’s levitating. It doesn’t actually make your phone float in mid-air, but it does look pretty neat, having your phone held in place that way.

The Magic Phone Stand is more than what its name indicates it is, though, because it’s also a charging cable. You might be wondering how that stiff ol’ stand could also be a cable, but, well, New Jersey-based Martinka Magic figured it out and came up with this. The stand was successfully funded on Kickstarter a few days ago, but don’t fret: you’ll be able to order the unique stand-slash-cable soon on its maker’s website.

Yell ‘Marco’, Wait for ‘Polo': App Turns Finding Your Phone Into a Game

Marco Polo app

Remember Marco Polo? Not Marco the explorer, but Marco the game, where the person tagged as “It” yells “Marco” and waits for other players to respond with “Polo” so he can locate them? Well, now you can play the same game with your phone whenever you’ve misplaced it and need to find it.

Marco Polo runs silently in the background on your iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad until you need it. All you have to do is shout “Marco” and your device will respond with “Polo.” Simple enough, right?

You can download the Marco Polo app for $0.99 from the iTunes App Store.

For the Worldly Traveler: SIMPLcase Travelers iPhone Case

SIMPLcase World Travelers iPhone Case

These days, it makes more sense to buy a local SIM than use global roaming on your original plan because of the outrageous rates that most providers charge. Unfortunately, removing and replacing SIM cards will eventually lead to losing one or the other sooner or later, especially if you travel frequently.

The simple solution? The SIMPLcase Travelers iPhone Case with its built-in SIM Card holder, which can hold up to three SIM cards (nano and the regular-sized ones). It also comes with a SIM card eject tool for your convenience.

It’s available from Fancy for $30.

FirstCall Chair is an Uber Comfortable and Private Phone Booth

FirstCall

If you find yourself scooting to the farthest end of the couch or leaving the room to take or make calls just to get some privacy, then you’ll like the idea behind FirstCall. It’s a cushy, comfortable chair that’s shaped like a giant telephone, which is pretty appropriate considering it was designed and made to let people converse on the phone in peace and with privacy.

The cool part is how the top of the chair obscures the person’s face and sort of makes the seat feel more like a booth of sorts.

Transform Your iPhone Into a Spy Camera With Peek-I

Peek-i

Whatever your reasons are for wanting to spy on your surroundings or the people around you, then here’s something that can help you out: the Peek-I, which is basically an attachment for your iPhone that’ll let you see around corners or areas at odd angles that you normally won’t be able to see with your eyes alone.

Peek-I is meant to go over your camera lens, where it works its magic by reflecting images this way and that to let you check blind areas and take images at a 90-degree angle.Continue Reading

Wake Up to the Smell of Deliciousness: Oscar Mayer’s Bacon Alarm Clock

Oscar Meyer Bacon Alarm Clock0

Whoever invented alarm clocks got it all wrong. If you want to get people out of bed, then you might want to give them a better reason to do so. A wailing alarm clock (with an occasionally defective snooze button that makes the entire process a hundred times more annoying) is clearly not what most people have in mind.

Alarm clock makers should take a cue from Oscar Mayer. They’ve come up with the Wake Up and Smell the Bacon app and iPhone dongle duo that basically wakes people up with the delicious scent of bacon.

Bumprz Anti-Cases are For Minimalists

Bumprz

If you’re a fan of minimalist phone cases, then you’ll love Bumprz for sure. It’s not a case in the traditional sense because it’s actually comprised of four steel bumpers that are meant to be attached on all four corners of your phone. The coolest part? It seems to work better than other cases that cover the entire back of your device.

So how does Bumprz work? It emphasizes protecting the corners of your phone, which sustains the most damage when it’s dropped. In effect, it also prevents the seam of the screen from hitting corners. Bumprz is constructed from a strong metal and attaches to your phone using a 3M adhesive which directs “the forces from the impact to the face and side of the device where the device can handle the high compressive and shear forces without failing.”

VGA Connector Phone Stand

What’s hot one moment can quickly go obsolete in the next. The VGA connector has been a staple in terms of connectors, but someone could come up with an alternative any moment now to replace it. Before it completely disappears (and goes out of style?), the enterprising folks at Meninos decided to hollow it out and transform it into a stand for your smartphone.

A suction cup is attached on one end to hold your phone in place, while the rubber stand is shaped with a flat bottom so that it can rest steadily on any flat surface. The VGA Phone Stand is available for $8.90.
