Phone Fingers Prevent Smudges, Make You Look Like a Dork

Phone Fingers

By Luke Anderson

I didn’t get quite as dazzled by the iPhone as some, though I won’t deny that it is pretty cool. One big complaint is that since you do everything by touching the screen, you tend to get a lot of fingerprints and smudges. That’s why you need Phone Fingers. Or not.

The idea is simple, your fingers cause smudges, so cover them up. However, what you end up with are some weird mini-condoms for your digits. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing these for fear of ridicule from my friends. If you’re interested, you can get a bag of 25 for a little under $15. If you get mercilessly mocked for wearing them, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Bluetooth Speakers Resemble Strange Chocolate Candy

MBS-100

By Luke Anderson

I’m sure you’re wondering what in the world that cool little ball is. Don’t worry, I had no idea either. This MBS-100 is Sony Ericsson’s answer to a portable cell phone speaker. The best part about this little guy is that it will actually stream music wirelessly from your phone via Bluetooth.

The internal battery will net you roughly 5 hours of music playback, which isn’t too bad considering that it runs off of Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the MBS-100 is only slated for an early 2008 launch in select Asia-Pacific markets.

OhGizmo Review: Mobile Edge Laptop Backpacks Part 1

Mobile Edge

By Evan Ackerman

New backpack smell always takes me back to the first day of school. And since I’ve been out of school, I haven’t put much thought into replacing my ancient JanSport. But ever since Mobile Edge sent me a couple of their laptop backpacks to check out, my sense of style, my laptop, and my back have all been demanding something new. I was able to meander about with these backpacks for several weeks on a trip up to the Pacific Northwest, and I’ll review them both separately over the next few days. You can be assured that these reviews are unbiased since I had to send the backpacks back (grrr); but it’s worth noting that I was disappointed to have to do so, ’cause I really did (mostly) like them. Hands on with the Logitech VX Nano Notebook Mouse

Logitech VX Nano Notebook Mouse (image courtesy of Logitech)
by Shane McGlaun

This week Logitech introduced the VX Nano notebook mouse. I have been using one here at my desk for the last few days and it is without a doubt one of the best notebook mice available. The VX Nano has the same hyper-fast scroll wheel as the VX Revolution notebook mouse, making scrolling long pages a breeze and it can easily be changed from free-wheel mode to click mode by pressing on the scroll wheel.

The most innovative feature of the VX Nano is the micro wireless receiver that uses advanced 2.4 GHz tech for connectivity. The receiver sticks out of your notebooks USB port a mere 8mm, which means you don’t have to remove the receiver from your notebook after you use the mouse.
