TMNT Trailer Gives Rise to the Michaelangelo Meme

TMNT Meme

Michael Bay is at the helm of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie reboot and he’s caused a lot of buzz with the direction that he’s chosen to go with the franchise. Some die-hard fans were ticked off at Bay’s need to tweak the turtles’ origins, but they didn’t have difficulty finding humor in their appearance. Specifically, that of Michaelangelo.

The first trailer for TNMT was released recently and what stood out the most to some was Michaelangelo’s odd appearance. Mainly, the fact that he looks like a cross between Shrek and Lizard from the Amazing Spider-Man. This gave rise to a new meme that has since taken off: the Michaelangelo. Hit the break to check out more!

Sad Keanu is the Best and Saddest Toy Ever

Sad Keanu Toy

Who on the internet hasn’t seen that image of Keanu Reeves hunched over at a park bench, looking extremely downcast and lonely? Fans of Keanu rushed to send the actor messages of encouragement, which prompted him to explain that he wasn’t depressed but was just enjoying a solo lunch at the park.

It’s crazy what a single image can do and what the internet can come up because of it. Aside from memes and fan art, an actual 3D-printed model of Sad Keanu now exists, thanks to Japan-based toy builder idk.Continue Reading

Grumpy Cat Snow Globe: Tardar Sauce is Not Impressed

Grumpy Cat Snowglobe

You’ve seen her pictures. You’ve laughed at her memes. Now own something inspired by none other than Tardar Sauce herself. She has achieved global fame on the Internet, where she’s known as Grumpy Cat. You know how some people’s resting faces look like they’ve swallowed something bitter? Well, that’s kind of what Tardar Sauce looks like at any given time, only the expression she sports is of the grumpy, unimpressed kind.

Even though the season of Christmas still won’t bring a smile to that face, something inspired by it will bring joy and a few laughs to most people who encounter it: the Grumpy Cat snowglobe. Shake it, flip it over, tilt it to one side, and you’ll be treated to a rain of glitter and confetti swirling about a bored-looking bust of Grumpy Cat.

Christmas doesn’t get any better than this, even though the snowglobe says otherwise. The Grumpy Cat snowglobe is available online for $16.

Rickroll’d in Klingon: Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ in Klingon

You’ll never forget the first time you were Rickroll’d. I certainly didn’t. What happened was: a friend called me one day and asked if I had heard about the iPhone 4S. I said no, and he told me to check out his Facebook profile because he had linked to an article about it. So I stupidly clicked on the shortened URL and was treated to Rick Astley in all his retro Never Gonna Give You Up goodness.

Rickrolling is still very much alive and kicking, and now an alternate Klingon version of his hit song has hit the web. It’s a Star Trek-inspired parody directed by Christopher Kidder-Mostrom, who also happens to provide the vocals for the video. Now it won’t win any music awards, but it’s a pretty decent–not to mention hilarious–effort.

So what are you waiting for? Get Rickrolling now, Klingon-style.

Squirrels are Superheroes

Squirrel Hero

Squirrels are superheroes in their own little way. They’re apparently responsible for planting a whole bunch of trees every year because they forgot where they buried their acorns. Even if it’s unintentional, we’ll take it as face value and consider these little, adorable creatures heroes either way.

Taking the “hero” bit more literally is Santiago-Perez from Spain, who used PhotoShop to transform your ordinary, run-of-the-mill squirrel into some of the most powerful and well-known superheroes of all time, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Hulk, and even Batman. A Yoda squirrel is thrown somewhere into the mix, too. Check out the rest of the images in the series after the break.

Grump in a Bottle: Grumpy Cat Grumppuccino Bottled Coffee Drink

Grumpy Cat Grumppuccino

The Grumpy Cat is one of the most popular memes on the Internet. It broke through barriers and crossed over from the virtual world to the real world long ago (remember the Grumpy Cat bust?) and now it’s about to make its way into your coffee mug.

The Official Grumpy Cat Facebook page recently announced that a new bottled coffee drink bearing the unimpressed feline’s image and likeness will be released soon. It’ll be called the “Grumppuccino” and will be made available in three flavors, although those flavors and the drink’s availability still haven’t been announced yet.

Sounds grumpy-licious to me! Who else is excited?

Sloth-Facing is a Meme That Turns Famous Personalities Into Sloths

Sloth-Facing

Doctor Who doesn’t look so good, but don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with him. He’s just been transformed into a sloth, that’s all. But you shouldn’t expect any sloth-themed episodes of Doctor Who soon, though, because this was the handiwork of Redditor treverhaas.

He calls it Sloth-Facing, and it’s a new meme he started after editing images of a bunch of well-known personalities on Photoshop. You can hit the jump for more sloth-ified celebrities.

Cat Beards are a thing now. Images of cat owners positioning their felines strategically to make it look like they had a beard have gone viral over the past few days and the trend is still going strong.
