Warming Up In Laptop Experts Land

By Luke Anderson

[ The following concerns a paid campaign currently running on the site. ]

Is it warm enough outside for you yet? It’s finally in the 80’s here in the Midwest, so I’ve been spending a lot of time out in the sun. Don’t worry though, I’ve still found plenty of time to answer your burning questions over on the Laptop Experts site. Check out what I’ve been up to this last week.

Have you ever wondered why your hard drive isn’t the exact size that was advertised? Well check out the answer here. Drivers for 64-bit versions of Vista and Windows 7 are still pretty hard to come by, much to the dismay of one person. Overheating laptops is a common issue, especially if you’re wanting it to run completely silent. Finally, what do you do when you get a “video mode initialization failed” error?

If you haven’t checked out the Laptop Experts site, I’d definitely recommend it. Maybe you’ll find the solution to a problem that’s been bugging you. If you don’t see the answer you’re looking for, just submit your question and one of us will gladly do what we can to help.

April Showers In Laptop Experts Land

Another week has passed, which means 5 more days worth of questions have been answered by yours truly over at the Laptop Experts site. As you likely know already, I answer a selection of questions every weekday at the Toshiba-sponsored Laptop Experts website. As with every other week, I’ll give you a recap of a few questions that were answered.

Power issues are never fun to deal with, especially when like these two people, your battery won’t hold a charge, or the whole thing won’t power on at all. What happens when you’re outside of the US and need to download drivers from a US-based site? Also, someone was having a strange issue where they would type one letter on their keyboard, and a number would show up.

If you’ve got a laptop issue that’s been plaguing you, or feel like working your brain by answering a few questions, then head on over to the Laptop Experts website and join in.

Springtime In Laptop Experts Land

By Luke Anderson

Spring is finally here, and that means more warm weather and beautiful days outside. It also means people are spending more time out and about with their laptops. So when you’re stumped with an issue on your notebook, just head over to the Laptop Experts site. The other experts and I are still hard at work making sure that no question goes unanswered. Here’s a selection of questions from this past week.

Wireless networking is essential for a laptop, so it’s only natural to find someone with a question about setting up their wireless router. Someone else was concerned that their hard drive wasn’t showing as much space as was promised. A RAM upgrade went bad and now the laptop won’t boot, what to do now? Someone else was having issues getting games to play, while another person needed a recommendation on a Mobile Internet Device (MID).

Though we experts are generally on top of things, we don’t mind if you jump in and answer questions too. Ask questions, answer them, it’s all a part of the community. So head on over to the Laptop Experts site and leave us a question or two.

Another Week In Laptop Experts Land

By Luke Anderson

[ The following concerns a paid campaign currently running on the site. ]

Friday is here, which means another week has gone by. Another week full of answers over at the Laptop Experts site. I’m still churning out 6 per day, which means 30 more people had their questions answered by me this week, and countless more by the other Experts. Lets take a look at some of the ones that came in this week.

One person’s network card was showing unplugged, when it clearly wasn’t, another’s trackpad wasn’t moving, while someone else couldn’t get their screen to come on. I was asked what size screen a person should get for traveling, and where one could find a Windows 7 driver for a specific Realtek device.

If you haven’t gotten your question answered by one of the experts, you’re always more than welcome to send one in over at the Laptop Experts site. If you’re feeling particularly helpful, you can answer a question or two while you’re over there as well.

This Week In Laptop Experts Land

By Luke Anderson

[ The following concerns a paid campaign currently running on the site. ]

It’s Friday, and that means I’ve put in another full week over at Laptop Experts. At six questions a day for five days a week, that’s 36 answers I’ve dolled out. When you consider that there are several other experts answering just as many questions, there’s a good chance that one of us will respond to your’s if you submit one. Curious what other people are asking? Here’s a sample from this week.

Someone needed to know exactly what would be installed on their computer after using their recovery disc, while another wanted to know how to get rid of that excess bloatware that comes on every laptop. There was a curious case of a notebook that wouldn’t boot past the Toshiba logo, a person needing guidance on taking pictures and recording video with their webcam and even someone needing to know if their computer will be able to run Sims 3 when it hits stores.

While we do get some repeat questions, there are always new ones for us to help with. If you’ve got a real brain-buster that you need some help with, by all means head over to the Laptop Experts site and submit it. Or if you’re wanting to kill a little time and offer up your advice, answer a few questions while you’re there.

Living It Up In Laptop Experts Land

By Luke Anderson

As the week draws to a close, you can tell that love is in the air. Everywhere you go you’re hearing and seeing plenty that suggests that Valentine’s Day is almost upon us. You can bet that plenty of people will be popping the big question tomorrow. You can also bet that people are asking questions every day over at the Laptop Experts site. Check out what I’ve been up to this past week.

It’s always amazing how very similar questions will get asked in the same week. We saw a couple of different people with concerns about their batteries not charging. Along the same lines I had someone wondering whether or not their laptop will continue to charge while they are using it. There were also a pair of people that for one reason or another could not properly shut down their laptop. If Windows won’t shut down on its own, how do you do it?

On Monday I’ll be back on the scene answering 6 per day, so if you’ve had a question or two that is in need of answering, head over and ask. While there are several experts such as myself that are answering inquiries on a daily basis, we’re always happy to see others contributing their own answers to the community, so head on over and answer a question or two.

More Adventures In Laptop Experts Land

By Luke Anderson

February is upon us, and I’m still churning out 6 answers a day over at the Laptop Experts site. It seems that there is never an end to the questions that come in, which definitely keeps me (along with the other Experts) busy. Here’s a taste of what I tackled during this week.

Cameras always come up a lot, and someone was wanting to use their built-in webcam with Yahoo Messenger. Another person was interested in downloading video from their camcorder, while someone else wanted to upgrade their USB ports to the 2.0 standard. Is physical damage to a laptop covered under the warranty?

If you have any burning questions that you want answered, or feel like tackling someone else’s question, feel free to stop by the Laptop Experts site.

Another Five Days In Laptop Experts Land

By Luke Anderson

[ The following concerns a paid campaign currently running on the site. ]

Is it Friday already? It seems like I was just writing up my post from last week. I suppose that time flies when you’re snowed in for most of a week. I’ve had plenty to keep me busy though, what with my 6 questions a day over at Laptop Experts (not to mention trying to shovel all of that snow).

It’s always interesting to see the new batch of questions each day. There are some questions that have been asked and answered several times before, but it’s always the new ones that I enjoy answering the most. This week I had someone with a strange licensing issue with Vista, and someone else that was having trouble downgrading their new laptop from Vista to XP. Changing your password in Vista is easy, as one person found out. Someone else asked the all-important question of how to keep their laptop battery from dying on them.

If you didn’t get around to asking your burning questions this week, don’t fret. You can stop by the site any time, and the rest of the resident experts and myself will be happy to get your question answered as best we can. Since there are always plenty of inquiries to go around, you’re more than welcome to try your hand at answering a few.

This Week In Laptop Experts Land

By Luke Anderson

[ The following concerns a paid campaign currently running on the site. ]

We’ve got a new president here in the US that’s promising lots of change. One thing that hasn’t changed is our efforts over at Laptop Experts. I’m still pumping out answers to 6 questions each and every weekday. Check out what I’ve been up to this past week.

There are always a variety of questions being asked. We do get repeat questions from time to time, but there are plenty of new ones that make me stop and think. Webcams are always a hot topic, and someone was wanting to know if they could get more effects for the cam built into their Toshiba notebook. Someone else was wondering just how to connect a laptop to their TV via an S-Video cable. I also answered questions regarding a system restore and the correct type of memory for a Toshiba Satellite A215.

By all means, keep these questions coming. There’s nothing I like more than a challenge, so if you’ve got a real brain-buster, send it over at the Laptop Experts site. Don’t forget that you’re more than welcome to answer a question or two (or as many as you like) while you’re there.
