Check Out This Bicycle-Powered Tree House Elevator

Treehouse Elevator

I think treehouses are a part of every person’s childhood in one way or another, whether or not they actually had one in their backyard. I didn’t, but I had a friend who did, and a group of us would spend countless afternoons holed up in there, eating stuff we shouldn’t and talking about ghosts that we thought actually existed. Eventually, we outgrew the treehouse–both figuratively and literally–but there was a point in time where we actually wanted to live in one.

Taking treehouses one step further is Ethan Schlussler of Sandpoint, Idaho, who built a bicycle-powered treehouse elevator because he got tired of having to climb a ladder to get to his 30-foot something treehouse.

Turn Your Tiny Tot Into One of the Living Dead

Zombabiez

I doubt your baby has purple guts and white tentacles hiding somewhere underneath his skin, but those are just some of the things your toddle will be sprouting out when she or he has got the Zombabiez zombie costume on.

The idea for the costume came to Stephanie Davidson when the dude she was talking to gave a start upon seeing a crawling baby, exclaiming that he thought that it was a torso-only zombie. She searched for a costume of that sort online and, finding none, decided to make one herself. And now she’s giving parents everywhere the chance to turn their bundles of joy into creepy, crawling zom-babies.

Superhero Backpacks Let Kids Take Flight at School

Superhero backpack I used to be one of those kids who would cry when it was time to go back to school. Not my proudest moments, I know. For whatever reason, some kids just don’t like going to school and it’s up to their parents to find a way to motivate them and make them understand that it’s for their own good–and for their future. After all, school is their gateway to a world of knowledge, where they can let their imagination and creativity take flight as they grow and learn.

Driving that point across are super moms Daphne and Rena, who created the SuperME backpack. Each one features generic designs and doesn’t feature any commercial characters. The best part? Each SuperME backpack comes with a hoodie cape, which might come in handy in bad weather.

Check Out the Manliest Baby Stroller of All Time

Manly Baby Stroller

According to a survey conducted by Czech automobile maker Skoda, a lot of dads admitted they were “embarrassed” to push regular strollers around. In case you’re wondering, “a lot” here means a third of the 1,000 of the dads who were surveyed. Strollers understandably come with few, if any, added features because they’re often unnecessary, and they often look plain because they’re baby strollers and not cars, for crying out loud!

That didn’t stop Skoda from building the VRS Mega Man-Pram, which looks like the most bad-ass baby stroller that was ever made! What they did was automobilify the basic stroller to turn it into something that can probably flatten another stroller that dared bump into it. (And yes, I am aware that automobilify isn’t a word.)

Healthy Sweets? Vegetable Candy in Green Beans, Carrots, and Corn Flavors

Vegetable Candy

Can’t get your kids to eat their greens? Want something healthier than bacon candy to satisfy your sweet tooth? Then check out this tin of Fresh Vegetable Candy from McPhee.

Each can is filled with an assortment of hard candy in three delectable-to-vegans-and-vegetarians flavors: green beans, carrots, and corn. So they probably don’t contain much nutrients because you’d have to eat the actual, unprocessed veggies for that, but it’s a neat treat to give kids so they’ll get used to the taste of these healthy greens and oranges.

Eight-Year-Old Spends $6,000 on In-App Purchases–Now See Why You Should Keep Your Phone Away From Kids?

Girl Spends 6K on Apple Apps

There are many reasons why you shouldn’t leave a kid alone with your phone. For one, they might delete messages or important emails without your knowledge. That could spell a lot of trouble for you, especially if they have to do with work. Another reason is that they often tap buttons they shouldn’t and end up making purchases that they haven’t cleared with you. This has happened to so many people all over the world, and yet parents still leave their kids with their devices.

Another case is that of Lee Neale and his eight-year-old daughter, who spend over £4,000 (about $6,000) on in-app purchases. Apparently, his daughter had seen him key in his password to purchase stuff and memorized it, keying it in later on when she made her own purchases.

Lee pleaded with Apple to cancel the purchases, but the former didn’t relent at first, and understandably so. It was only when Lee went to the media with his story that Apple granted him a refund. Continue Reading

‘Bites and Pieces’ Turns Sandwiches Into a Game of Edible Tetris

Tetris Bites

It’s difficult to get kids to eat their food sometimes. Parents have to constantly innovate and find ways to make mealtimes interesting. Bento boxes and rice balls are some good examples. But what can they do when it comes to boring-looking sandwiches?

Turn them into a game, that’s what! The whole process is made quick, easy, and painless thanks to the Bites & Pieces Sandwich Crust Cutter. Just prepare the sandwich, press the mold over it, and you have a bunch of Tetris pieces ready to go for both playing and eating. The box-shaped pieces are notably missing, but those are pretty easy to cut out from scratch anyways.

This Shirt Turns Your Back Into a Playmat For Your Kids

Playmat T-Shirts For Parents

Now you can get some much-needed R&R during your kids playtime thanks to these awesome playmat t-shirts by Etsy seller Becky. They’re basic tees at first glance, but there’s a colorful railroad printed at the back that can double as a playmat for your kids. Just break out the toy box, pass around the toy cars, trucks, and action figures, and lie face down on a soft and comfortable surface. Preferably your bed.

The cars or trains going around the tracks on the playmat-slash-shirt will give you a gentle massage, and hopefully, it’s enough to keep your kids pre-occupied until dinner time.
