Rumor Mill: iPhone 5C Case Turns Up on Amazon

Plastic iPhone 5

For weeks, we’ve been hearing that Apple has a budget iPhone in the works. It makes perfect sense that they’re trying to tap into this market, considering the fact that the regular iPhone is way out of the budget of most people. For years, the Android has been hot in its heels and it looks like the rival OS is gaining more and more ground. There is a wide variety of Android devices available in the market, from high-end luxury phones to affordable but still full-featured smartphones.

Images of Apple’s purported budget iPhone leaked earlier this month. Apple hasn’t confirmed the existence of the device yet, although sources claim that they’ll be launching it this September. Perhaps fueling these rumors even more is the appearance of a case for the “iPhone 5C” on Amazon.Continue Reading

Killspencer Card Carrier Is Slick

Guys, let’s face it: thick wallets are out. This much we’ve said before, and we’ll be happy to say it again. That’s why we’re always on the lookout for gear like the Killspencer Card Carrier, above. It turns your iPhone 5 into a barebones, essentials-only, card carrier. Fitting only 4 cards (1 license, 2 credit cards, and 1 debit card), the carrier adds very little width to your phone, and does so with class.

[It is made] of Natural Oil-Tanned Leather and Macassar Ebony Wood, and is lined with the finest Italian-made Alcantara® Suede Endoskeleton, with a thumb port cut for easy access.

It sticks to the back of the phone with an adhesive, and can be easily removed. It’s elegant, efficient, and we really like it, but is obviously reserved for those of us who have the courage to leave home with the bare essentials. If that’s your thing, you’ll have to part with $69 to own one.

iExpander Upgrades Your iPhone in More Ways than One

iExpander

Need to make a call, only to look at your phone and discover that you’re running on your last five minutes of power? Want to capture a gorgeous sunset as it happens, only to take a couple of shots using your iPhone and realize that the light’s too low to produce any good images? Transferring a couple gigabytes’ worth of your favorite shows so you can watch them on the plane, only to discover that you’ve run out of space? These are three of the most common problems that iPhone users experience, and also the three commonest problems that the folks behind the iExpander have chosen to take on.

The iExpander is a case of sorts that will provide extra power and additional storage space for your iPhone so it won’t let you down, especially during the times when you need it the most. It also improves the camera by adding LEDs and extending the length of the flash which work to improve the quality of shots drastically.

How About A Little Wood For An iPhone Case?

The iPhone 5 is nigh, and its relatively minor cosmetic changes mean that the entire accessory ecosystem gets to start churning out a new generation of products once again. We’ll soon be flooded by new docks, clocks, robots, and teddy bears that work with the newest iPhone. Of the first batch of these, we really like the above Miniot Book. It’s made from hand crafted wood and gives your phone a kind of organic chic that we feel serves as a good counterbalance to the phone’s industrial coldness. A slotted hinge along the side lets you turn one side of the cover into an angled stand so it’s kind of dual-purpose as well.

Of course, the words “hand-crafted wood” don’t typically find themselves in the same sentence as the word “cheap” (well… except here), and the Minion Book is no exception: $143 once it’s launched.

Is Apple’s iPhone 5 Going to Look Like a DSLR? Adam Sacks Seems to Think So

iPhone 5 Parody

You don’t have to be an Apple fanboy (or fangirl) to know that the next iPhone is coming–and it’s coming soon. While the world waits with bated breaths, Apple is taking their own sweet time before making the big reveal.

So while they do that, New York-based comedian Adam Sacks decided to take matters into his own hands and “leaked” his own version of an “official” iPhone 5 promo video. And while it’s all sorts of ridiculous, it’s hilarious and extremely amusing at the same time.

Self-proclaimed and true-blue foodies like to use their iPhones to take photos of their food. That’s the point Sacks latched on to and decided to expound in the video. The iPhone 5 he boasts of is a basically a DLSR in the guise of a phone, stamped with the Apple logo, and that was it.

Check out the video after the jump for a few laughs.
