Squirrels are Superheroes

Squirrel Hero

Squirrels are superheroes in their own little way. They’re apparently responsible for planting a whole bunch of trees every year because they forgot where they buried their acorns. Even if it’s unintentional, we’ll take it as face value and consider these little, adorable creatures heroes either way.

Taking the “hero” bit more literally is Santiago-Perez from Spain, who used PhotoShop to transform your ordinary, run-of-the-mill squirrel into some of the most powerful and well-known superheroes of all time, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Hulk, and even Batman. A Yoda squirrel is thrown somewhere into the mix, too. Check out the rest of the images in the series after the break.

Epic Classic Paintings and Superheroes Mash-up

Classic Superhero Paintings Little Supergirl” by aards2

Thousands of artists flock to Worth1000 every day, where art-centric competitions are held every day with site credits given away as prizes. Over the years, a number of “Superhero ModRen” photo effects contests have been run on the site. “ModRen” is a wordplay of sorts that combines “modern” and “renaissance,” which describes the type of edited images that users are submitting for this category.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, the contest essentially challenges community members to recreate classic Renaissance paintings while injecting a modern, superhero twist into it. You can find more of interesting entries from the contest after the break.

‘Meat Parade’ is the Hammiest Record Ever

Meat Parade

Crazy over meat? Then march to the beat of two meat-themed songs from Archie McPhee’s newly-released record that’s aptly called Meat Parade. It’s a limited-edition record that looks like a “beautifully marbled ham steak”–is anyone getting hungry after looking at this record? I know I am.

Only a thousand of these meaty records have ever been produced, so if you’ve been collecting other meat-themed items from Archie McPhee (like the Meat Parade Lunchbox and Meat Parade Wrapping Paper Book), then you might want to hurry and pick one of these up before they’re gone for good.

#MustWatch: Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon’s Hilarious Sketch That Mocks #Hashtags

Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon are bros for life and it shows in their latest comedy skit that mocks hashtags–or rather, its overuse and the sometimes annoying ways that people use them. The celebrity duo manage to have an entire conversation that’s peppered in the end by a multitude of hashtags that people normally use when they’re on Twitter or on some other social network.

At first, it’s fine. But then, it slowly starts to get on your nerves…

There’s nothing annoying about Justin and Jimmy though. In fact, they manage to show how silly and dumb conversations sound when hashtags are added at the end of every statement. This skit will either have you hanging your head in shame or laughing your head off–or both. Watch it. You won’t regret it. #nokidding #forreal #okay #imdone #bye

Featuring the Men Who Love ‘My Little Pony’: The ‘My Little Brony’ Doll

There’s just something about My Little Pony that gets to even the toughest of men. These fans are called bronies and they’re so m larger in number than you think. So much so that College Humor took it upon themselves to create their very own commercial for My Little Brony dolls, just because. They’re not as cute or adorable as the ponies–I mean, they’re bros, for crying out loud–but the fauxmercial is pretty hilarious.

Neck beard? Check. Brushable ponytail? Check. Yep, that’s My Little Brony in a nutshell for you.

Horror Comic-Themed Engagement Photos: Because Love Conquers All–Even Masked Creepers

Horror Comic Book Engagement

For their engagement photos, Chris and Alexandra came up with a fun and unique concept that’s definitely got people talking: a horror comic book theme. Their couple is all lovey dovey until they spot a saw-wielding masked man. That’s when the horror begins, and the photos play out like a comic book as the couple spring into action.

It’s definitely different from most engagement shoots where couples just lie around and gaze into each other’s eyes the entire time. Hit the break to check out the full gallery–and to find out what happens next.

Forget That Rabbit’s Foot! Here’s a Jar of Instant Luck

Insta Luck

Down on your luck? Forget that rabbit’s foot and grab a jar of Insta-Luck instead. Each of these tiny jars contain a hand-picked four-leaf clover that’s grown in the USA and preserved through a 5-step method to make sure that it’ll last you a lifetime. Finding an authentic four-leaf clover yourself has a 1 in 10,000 chance in happening, so save yourself some time and buy one instead.

Luck isn’t guaranteed, but at least you’ll have something to hold on to (aside from your faith) when the going gets tough and when the odds are against you.

Apparently a lot of people believe in four-leaf clovers as well, since they’re all currently sold out online. Fret not though, because they’ll be back in stock on later this month and will be priced at $11.99.

You’re Invited to a Generic Birthday Party

Generic Birthday Party

In this day and age where brands are plastered everywhere, it’s rare to see someone throw a party that’s completely generic. But that’s exactly what Chris did for his wife for her 35th birthday. There was a card, a bunch of balloons, gifts, games, and decorations, but they were all generic and definitely unlike most party favors.

They’re probably not what you’re used to, but I think that’s what makes the whole party so awesome.

Untranslatable Words From Other Languages

Untranslatable Words Language is one of the many aspects of culture that sets the latter apart from others. One word in one language could mean something else in another language. Sometimes, one word in one language has no counterpart or translation in another. Maptia took eleven of these words and turned them into lively illustrations to make it easier for people to go through. The team used the information found in Guy German’s book, entitled Through The Language Glass, as the basis for the series. You can check out the rest of the series after the break.
