OhGizmo Giveaway – Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Multiplayer Beta Keys

uncharted-2-beta-keys

Getting into a closed beta isn’t always the easiest of tasks. Knowing someone on the inside can help, sometimes if you’re a member of a special club you’ll get in. Many times it’s pure chance that grants you access. Well if you’re wanting to check out Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, I might just be able to help you out. I’ve got 5 beta keys for the multiplayer beta, and I’m giving them away.

If you’re interested, here’s what you’re going to need to do. Just start following OhGizmo on Twitter, and sometime in the next day or so we’ll be posting an email address on there. It’s not going to show up in the overflow on the left, so no cheating. Once you have the email address, just shoot me a message. Come next Monday I’ll pick 5 people at random who will get the keys and announce the winners. Good luck!

And The Winner Of Our CES Swag Giveaway Is…

cesstuff

By David Ponce

Zedd Zero, with the comment “Tri-Spec girl”. Congrats Mr. Zero! And also congrats to the Tri-Spec girl. We’re pretty sure she won by what looks like an overwhelming margin. We didn’t actually tally the votes because, to be honest, she doesn’t get anything for winning so… what’s the point? If any of you enterprising lads has an hour to kill, the article is right here.

That said, Tri-Spec girl does have a website, in case you’re curious, and it’s myspace.com/laneisuicide. Why the suicide? Seems she’s also a Suicide Girl (somewhat NSFW-y).

Thank you all for participating, and our apologies on the behalf of the atmospheric noise Gods that it wasn’t you who won. Unless of course you’re Mr. Zero.

[CES 2009] Behold Our Awesome Roundup Of CES Booth Babes, And Yes… Another Giveaway!

CES Booth Babes

By David Ponce

So, CES is over. Don’t cry, we’ve done enough of that for all of you over our battered feet and crooked backs in the last few days. Instead, cheer up because here is our super awesome collection of CES booth babes, available for your perusal and more importantly, your vote. Yes, not only can voting elect governments and decide between greasy pizza or nutritious McD’s for the office lunch, but it can now also get you some drool-worthy convention floor swag.

We were able to find 13 beautiful ladies willing to be photographed. But it wasn’t easy. Some were clearly used to this sort of thing while others had to be coaxed and convinced they wouldn’t be sharing space with anyone from the other show (NSFW). Some were easily available for the photo op, while yet others had to be fetched from their resting areas after lengthy discussions with careful executives (*cough*Casio*cough*). We wanted to tell you all this so you’re aware of the effort that goes into something like this. Yeah… It’s a dirty job, but someone’s got to do it.

So, now, hit the jump to see the girls, find out what you might win and vote!

By David Ponce

Rafizah Zain, who chose the Saishin Retsu Gunmetal+Green watch.
Tom Lorimor, who chose the Tokyoflash Negative IPB watch.
Jordan Dobbs Rosa, who chose the Tokyoflash Galaxy watch.

These were all chosen at random by Paul Cooper, marketing manager at Tokyoflash from all the entries he received. Thank you all for participating, and stay tuned for other giveaways in the new year.

And The Winner Of The Coosh Headphones With Bundled iPod TouchIs… (UPDATED)

By David Ponce

HAL_9000, with the comment: “even if i by some miracle i won it, i’m sure my wife would steal it.” Our hearts go out to you, dear HAL_9000. You’ll get the joy of winning with the sorrow of losing, all at the same time. Good stuff.

For those of you wondering where the requisite Random.org screenshots are: I’m on vacation. I’m using some strange PC, with none of the software I use. And sure, taking and cropping screenshots is fairly simple. But I’m on vacation. Trust me that the winning number was 14, and that this is our little HAL_9000 friend here.

Once again, my apologies to all who didn’t win, but I do thank you all for entering. If anything, we’ve set a new record for the number of comments left in a month! And proven that y’alls are a bunch of lurkers. Don’t be shy of leaving comments. In the future, we’ll start rewarding prolific commenters, and it won’t hurt you to get a head start.

Merry Christmas!

Update: Turns out our little friend here doesn’t leave his correct email address… HAL_9000, dude, we got no other way of reaching you! You have 24 hours to get in touch with us, or your winning will be forfeited and given to someone else. And to avoid some random person claiming to be you, you will have to give us the email address you used to make your original comment as well. Failure to remember it, you guessed it, will forfeit your winning. Sorry dude, but we have no choice.

We’re Giving Away Coosh Headphones, Bundled With… An iPod Touch! (And A Tiny Review)

By David Ponce

It’s hard to believe that there could still be some room in the more-than-crowded headphone market. You might expect a newcomer to have to deliver some kind of metaphysical eargasmic experience to even be considered for a second glance (or second listen). But yet it’s with the simplest of premises that Coosh sets itself apart. Their motto: “Stays On. Feels Good.” sounds like smarmy marketing… but it isn’t. Coosh headphones are quite probably the most comfortable headphones I’ve had the pleasure to wear. And the best part is their price: between $20 and $30.

They feature a premium quality silicone ear loop that literally fuses them to your head. I shook and shook until I darn near pulled a muscle in my neck, and they wouldn’t come off. They’re really light, so you barely feel them. Sound quality is decent for the price, though these aren’t in-ears’. No… for $20, what you’re getting is exactly what Coosh is trying to sell you: headphones that feel good, and stay on, no matter what you do.

And of course, we’re giving some away, along with an 8GB iPod Touch! The iPod has been slightly modified to contain some Coosh artwork, but is otherwise brand new. And it’s yours for the winning in what may very well be the last giveaway of the season. If your fingers aren’t yet sore from leaving comments on OhGizmo, here’s your last chance.

The details:

How to win? Leave a comment here. Make it… wintery, or something. To be fair, we’ll pick someone at random. Don’t spam, or the ghouls will eat your soul. And we’ll ban your IP too.

Who can enter? The world, my friends, the world.

When does it end? We’ll make this a Christmas thing. We’re closing the comments at midnight EST on December 24th, and announcing the winner sometime during Christmas day. Know that the item won’t ship until January 2nd. So, you’ll know you’ve won on Christmas, but don’t expect to see it until the new year.

Have fun leaving comments, and Happy Happy Holidays y’all!

We’re Giving Away Three Tokyoflash Watches!

By David Ponce

Those of you reading OhGizmo! for a while will know we’re big fans of Tokyoflash watches. The impossibly difficult to read timepieces are as much of a geek’s badge of honor than a stylish wristwatch, and they make the best conversation starters. So, in the spirit of the Holidays, and in partnership with Tokyoflash, we’re giving away three watches… of your choice!

This contest is a little different than our previous ones, so pay attention to the details below.

How to win?: Answer the following question: “Which Tokyoflash watch would be perfect for your next space expedition?” The answer can be found at Tokyoflash’s website. When you think you know the answer, email it to “ohgizmo [at] tokyoflash [dot] com”. In the email, you can also state which watch you’d like to get, should you be one of the winners. 3 winners will be selected at random.

Who can enter?: This is open to the world.

When does it end?: Emails will not be counted after midnight, December 24th, EST. The winner will be announced the following day, the 25th, Christmas.

Once again, Happy Holidays!

And The Winner Of The Digital Innovations Gear With $100 Amazon Gift Certificate Is…

By David Ponce

Commenter #28: Scott, with the comment “I wouldn’t mind winning this, but I really need the laptop more…” Congrats, dude! And our apologies for it not being the netbook. We read your impassioned plea on the Acer giveaway page and feel your pain. But hey, this stuff is pretty cool as well.

Once again, thank you all for your 144 comments. We wish we could let everyone win, but hey… you’re all winners in our eyes. Haha! That’s some awesome cheese right there.

And yeah, just a reminder to keep your eyes open for our two final giveaways this month. We know leaving comments can be painful, but it’s a pain you’ll learn to love.

And The Winner Of The Acer Aspire One Netbook Is…

By David Ponce

Commenter #354: Nance. Congratulations Nance, you just won our giveaway of an an Acer Aspire One Netbook with the schoolgirly comment “me wanteee!!” You wanteee, and you uh… not gonna try a lame joke here.

Thank you all so much for your 485 entries (the most ever), as well as the really nice comments y’all left about us. I wish there could be a netbook for everyone, but it’s not to be. Keep your eyes peeled though because later today, we’re launching two more giveaways, the winners of which will be announced on Christmas day, and one of which is open to the world. So stay tuned.

One thing, though. I would like to personally thank one of our most loyal commenters, McMan. Even though you haven’t won any of our giveaways yet, I really appreciate the time you take to contribute to this little community. There are others like him on OhGizmo, and sometime soon I’ll organize something to reward the more prolific commenters. But I had to be fair and leave this one up to the atmospheric number generator Gods to decide.

Watch for the next two giveaways in the next few hours.
